Friendly Visitor

	Description of Position: Volunteers may visit seniors in the Drop-In, lodges, or in their homes. They will be accompanied by an agency worker on the first visit. These seniors are often isolated, may have physical disabilities, mental health issues, or just wishing for company. Staff support is always available when needed. The job does NOT include housework, cleaning, cooking, or any manual labor. The volunteer is there to visit, enjoy, encourage conversation and be a companion for the senior.
	Qualifications:
	-  The volunteer should be a good listener, patient, and enjoy the company of seniors, male or female.
	-  Edmonton Police Security Clearance needs to be provided - at the time of the interview an application for the clearance will be provided, and there will be no charge for the check.
