Many
inner city seniors want to stay in their homes as
long as possible. The Helping
Hands Program
helps to maintain that independence by providing
basic services. |

Workers
accompany seniors on shopping trips, or shop for
them if needed. |
 |
They
transport seniors for medical and dental
appointments, provide friendly visits for isolated
or shut-in seniors, and help connect them to the
larger community. |
 |
As a result, many inner city seniors
do not require long term health care until much
later. |
